OFF-SEASON TRAINING

PRE AND POST-SEASON OPTIONAL SESSIONS AND INFORMATION

Youth: Aside from the travel and non-travel team opportunities, the high school coaching staff often offers clinics for players, new and returning, to improve their game.

SUMMER

Summer clinics hosted by members of the high school coaching staff will be offered beginning at the end of May 2021 (usually run through mid-August) for new and returning players for K-12th grades.  These are great opportunities for new players to start with others in a small groups to learn the fundamentals to decide if it is something you want to pursue.  We will also offer clinics for returning players who want to keep elevating their fundamental skills regardless of experience and keep you in touch and continuing to build on TEAM mentality with your peers, even those who are doing travel ball.

Details soon.

FALL

We usually host a fall clinic for newbies.

Girls that intend to play on the high school team will be asked to inform the coach of their intentions, and weight room training, team bonding events, tournaments and fall league participation will be heavily encouraged as well as booster participation for parents.

WINTER

Continued optional indoor sessions for high school players. Weight room training, team bonding events, tournaments, and winter league participation will be heavily encouraged to MS and HS players.

STICKWORK FOR ALL PLAYERS IS YOUR PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY AS A TEAM MEMBER:

  • Find at least 20 minutes for wall ball (or rebounder work) at the minimum 4 days a week, more time is highly suggested! There is no way to control the ball if you cannot pass and catch efficiently. Nothing will help you improve stick skills than wall ball/rebounder work.  No matter what level of player you are, you cannot advance any further without continued - regular stick work. PUT THE TIME IN!

  • Shoot (if you have a goal or rebounder) - it does not matter what position you play, practicing your shooting helps with passing and catching. Besides that, you never know when your position could change. ALWAYS BE READY FOR ANYTHING!

You can find LOADS of drills for any of the above on You Tube and the internet in general.  If you want more ideas or want another specific workout to follow instead of the one sent in the spring, PLEASE REACH OUT TO ANY OF THE COACHES!
